Russell was educated in the GPS system at The Southport School on the Gold Coast. Russell's father, Howard Biddle was a well respected and long servicing boarding master at the school and there is a boarding house "Biddle House" named in his memory at the school. Russell undertook his Articles of Clerkship with a sole practitioner on the Gold Coast and upon admission as a Solicitor entered into partnership in a medium size Gold Coast law firm at Southport. In December 2000 Russell commenced practice as a sole practitioner, under the firm Biddle Lawyers. On 1 July 2009 Russell incorporated the business as Biddle Lawyers Pty Ltd.


Russell's vast experience is in Personal Litigation and he is renowned as an expert in this field. Russell regularly advocates on behalf of our clients in Courts, Tribunals and at mediations and conferences. Russell works in close conjunction with our other Solicitors and external experts such as Barristers and Medical practitioners in these areas in the day-to-day management of our client's cases. Russell also supervises our team and assists clients generally in most areas in which the firm accepts legal work.


Russell was accepted by the Queensland Government to be a panel Solicitor for the Queensland Government Redress Scheme where he represented and provided advice to hundreds of Claimants (most of them elderly) throughout Queensland who were victims of abuse or neglect whilst children at orphanages or in State care many decades ago. The Redress Scheme was introduced by the Queensland Government in response to the Forde Inquiry into child abuse in Queensland.


Russell acts as the Honorary Solicitor to many organisations and charities and is available to provide advice and representation to any community or charitable organization, usually on a pro-bono basis. As Managing Partner of the firm, Russell supervises all our team to ensure that the highest levels of customer service, satisfaction and professional advice and representation are maintained.


Russell is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory. He is a member of the Queensland Law Society. Russell has completed the Queensland Barristers Practice Course (advocacy skills) and the Queensland Law Society Practice Management Course and holds an unrestricted Principal Practising Certificate.
