All our professional staff are Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Queensland and members of the Queensland Law Society. They attend regular in-house and external training seminars and conferences to ensure that we are up to date and leaders in our respective fields of legal practice.

Russell Biddle - Principal

Russell was educated in the GPS system at The Southport School on the Gold Coast. Russell's father, Howard Biddle was a well respected and long servicing master at the school and there is a boarding house Biddle House named in his memory at the school. Russell undertook his Articles of Clerkship with Michael Joseph Smith, a sole practitioner on the Gold Coast and upon admission as a Solicitor entered into partnership in the firm Adamson Bernays Kyle and Jones (ABKJ) at Southport. Russell's experience is in Personal Injuries Litigation and he is renowned as an expert in this field. Russell also regularly advocates on behalf of our clients in Courts, Tribunals and at mediations and conferences in Personal Injury claims and also in Family Law, commercial disputes, and in Tribunals such as at QComp, the Commercial and Consumer Tribunal and the Guardianship and Administration Tribunal. He works in close conjunction with our other Solicitors in these areas in the day-to-day management of the firm's and client's cases. Russell also advises our clients generally in most areas in which the firm accepts legal work and assists clients when signing contracts for residential purchases and sales to ensure that they are aware of their rights and that the correct process and forms are completed.

Russell is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory and is a member of the Queensland Law Society. Russell has completed the Queensland Law Society Practice Management Course and holds an unrestricted Principal Certificate.
Russell has undertaken and graduated from the Queensland Barristers Practice Course which has provided him with exceptional grounding and experience in advocacy skills.
Russell is Honorary Solicitor to many organisations and charities including the Logan Respite and Community Centre, Redlands District Committee on the Ageing and the Redlands Softball Association. Russell regularly undertakes pro-bono work for community organisations, charities, schools and not for profit organisations.
Russell was a panel Solicitor for the Queensland Government Redress Scheme where he represented and provided advice to hundreds of Claimants (most of them elderly) throughout Queensland who were victims of abuse or neglect whilst children at orphanages or in State care many decades ago. The Redress Scheme was introduced by the Queensland Government in response to the Forde Inquiry into child abuse in Queensland.

Hugh Simson - Associate

Hugh was educated in the GPS system at The Southport School on the Gold Coast. He holds two degrees, a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Law, from Griffith and Bond Universities. Prior to his admission and since he joined Biddle Lawyers he has gained a wealth of practical and legal knowledge and experience in the field of Personal Injury Litigation. Read more >>

Kirsten Clayton- Senior Solicitor

Admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court, Kirsten has practised both in Brisbane city and locally.
In her practise as an intellectual property solicitor, Kirsten has dealt extensively with copyright and trademark matters, and has appeared in the Federal Court on several occasions for both intellectual property and Trade Practices Act matters.

Kirsten fosters excellent relationships with her clients and believes that good communication with clients is of the utmost importance.

Stephanie Murray - Solicitor
LLB

Stephanie acquired her Bachelor of Law from the Queensland University of Technology. She has been a resident of Redland City all her life, was educated locally and in fact was honoured to be School Captain in her final year of schooling. Stephanie completed her practical training with us, on a voluntary basis, in order to obtain her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Read more >>

  Stephanie is the Solicitor that heads our Family Law Department. She regularly appears in the Federal Magistrates Court and attends conciliation and mediation conferences for our family law clients. She also assists Russell Biddle with the Wills, Powers of Attorney and Estates.

Megan Delmar - Solicitor

Megan is currently undertaking her Practical Legal Training requirements, whilst working full time, and plans to be admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in February 2011. - Megan's experience with the Griffith University Innocence Project cemented her decision to pursue her long held passion from criminal law. Upon admission, she will head the Biddle Lawyers Criminal Law Department, assisting clients deal with the Criminal Justice System to pursue their legal rights with minimal fuss and trauma. Megan understands the importance of establishing an open and honest relationship with her clients and intends to do so by fostering their trust and confidence. Megan welcomes any inquiries regarding defending any criminal charges. Merger With Clapins Lawyers / Redlands Conveyancing
On the 1st July 2009 Peter Clapin merged his practice formerly known as Clapins Lawyers and Redlands Conveyancing Service with Biddle Lawyers. Peter is well known in the Redlands and his law practice had been established for many years at Victoria Point. Peter will remain as a Consultant to the firm and Chantel Tse (Solicitor) and Kylie Fox (para-legal) will join Biddle Lawyers from Clapins.
